Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site operator.
2. Cookies We Use
Spendently uses only strictly necessary cookies. We do not use advertising, tracking, analytics, or social media cookies.
| Cookie name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sessionid |
Essential | Keeps you logged in between page loads. Without this cookie, you would be logged out every time you navigate to a new page. | 2 weeks (or until browser closes if "Remember me" is off) |
csrftoken |
Essential | Security cookie that protects against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. Required for any form submission on the site (login, transactions, settings, etc.). | 1 year |
eb-theme |
Preference | Remembers your preferred colour theme (dark or light mode) so it is applied immediately on each page load without a flash of the wrong theme. | Persistent (localStorage, not a cookie) |
3. What We Do Not Use
- No Google Analytics or similar tracking tools
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No social media tracking pixels
- No third-party cookies from any source other than those listed above
4. Your Choices
Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, there is no option to opt out of them while still using the Service — removing the session or CSRF cookie would prevent you from logging in or submitting any forms.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Note that doing so will log you out of Spendently. Most browsers provide guidance on managing cookies in their help documentation.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new cookies in the future (for example, analytics after a feature launch), we will update this Cookie Policy and notify users through the Service before those cookies are placed.
